HSL-1130 Heat Seal Lacquer
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Stellar HSL-1130 is a solvent-based, flexible heat seal lacquer developed for dry and rigid food packaging. The product can be applied in a single layer directly onto aluminum, PET, or paper films using a rotogravure or roller process. It is particularly suitable for packaging chocolate, biscuits, cakes, confectionery, and cheese products, and adheres reliably at temperatures as low as 140°C. It is also recommended for coffee capsules.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Stellar HSL-1130 is a solvent-based heat seal lacquer based on special thermoplastic polymers and additives. It can be coated directly onto aluminum and PET films and ensures tight seals on aluminum, PET, and PS cups. This makes it suitable for versatile use in packaging for solid food products.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Suitable Materials ALU, Paper, PET
Application Methods Rotogravure, Roller Application, Semiflexo
Application Rate 2–5 g/m² (dry content)
Viscosity 15–20 s (DIN 53211, 4 mm)
Thinner Ethyl acetate
Drying 110–160 °C for 3–7 seconds
Optimal drying depends on factors such as machine speed, lacquer application, temperature profile, evaporation, airflow, and humidity. The residual solvent content should be measured and checked regularly.
Sealing values N/15mm
AL / AL N/15mm: 15 (Brugger-HSG C, 200 °C, 1 s, 460 N)
AL / Paper N/15mm: 10 (Brugger-HSG C, 200 °C, 1 s, 460 N) (NC-coated)
AL / APET N/15mm: 7 (Brugger-HSG C, 200 °C, 1 s, 460 N)
The values indicated apply at 200 °C. Adhesion decreases as the temperature drops.
The effective sealing range is between 140 °C and 200 °C.
